Start with compatibility, not appearance
Check the TV’s screen size, weight, and VESA pattern. The mount must support all three. Decide whether the screen should be fixed, tilting, or full motion.
Choose height from the seat you actually use
Sit where you normally watch and look straight ahead. The center of the screen should feel comfortable without making you hold your head upward. Mark the proposed outline with painter’s tape before committing.
Know what is inside the wall
Standard drywall with wood studs is the most straightforward surface. Brick, concrete, stone, fireplaces, metal studs, and unusually thick finishes require different tools and planning.
Plan power, cables, and connected devices
List every streaming box, console, soundbar, receiver, antenna, Ethernet cable, or media player. Confirm the TV has enough inputs and every cable is long enough after mounting. In-wall power is different from basic visible cable organization.
Prepare the room for the appointment
Have the television, compatible mount, remotes, cables, passwords, and soundbar brackets ready. Clear the work area. After installation, test every input, remote, streaming app, and speaker path.
